The Tohoku-Lorraine Conference 2019 is organised in the framework of a strong collaboration between Tohoku University (Sendai, Japan) and the University of Lorraine (Nancy, Lorraine). The objective is to strenghen this long term partnership between these two universities, we firmly believe that there is a great potential for strong international research collaboration connected with academic exchanges. Its purpose is to allow researchers from both universities to meet around themes such as: mathematics, spin electronics as well as human and social sciences through a session dedicated to assistive technologies for ageing. This first edition of this conference will be built around 2 scientific sessions (17th - 20th September 2019), 1 SHS session (21st - 25th September 2019) and a few seminars organised in parallel on themes for which the overall assistance will be more limited.
